- The packaging must be lightweight in order to transport large volumes quickly, conveniently and economically
- Stability is also an important aspect so that the consumer can readily open the package and consume the contents safely
- In order to clearly differentiate and distinctly position the product and brand at the point of sale, there must be sufficient surface area to place an appealing décor
- Water readily picks up external odors. The packaging must counter this tendency – through its own composition and ability to repel external influences
