History in China

1985 SIG Combibloc starts business in China (initially in the name of PKL Verpackungssysteme GmbH).
1989 SIG takes over PKL Verpackungssysteme GmbH, Germany, and changes the company name to SIG Combibloc.
1997 SIG Combibloc Shanghai office opens in November.

1999 SIG Combibloc Beijing office opens in December. Meanwhile, a customer training center is set up to provide customers full services on a local basis.
2002 Construction of a new packaging material plant begins in November in the Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province.
2004 With a total investment of 90 million USD, the first packaging materials plant of SIG Combibloc in China is in production since July on a 60,000 square meter site.
2007 SIG Combibloc is undertaking further expansion which includes the installation and commissioning of an in-house coating line to realize the entire state-of-the-art aseptic carton manufacturing in the Suzhou plant. With this additional investment of 70 million USD, SIG Combibloc's cumulative investment in China exceeds 1 billion RMB, achieving annual capacity of 8 billion packages.
