Now on sale: FSC-certified carton packs from SIG Combibloc for fruit juice drinks and ice teas On October 2009 SIG Combibloc has launched the first carton packs for fruit juice drinks and ice teas in Europe that carry the label of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). SIG Combibloc is the first carton pack manufacturer to have had all its worldwide production sites certified in accordance with the FSC criteria for a complete chain of custody verification (CoC). This enables SIG Combibloc to offer beverage cartons all over the world that are permitted to carry the label ‘FSC Mix’.
The FSC label proves that all the wood fibres used to manufacture the packaging can be traced back to source along the entire value-added chain, from the labelled package right back to the forest of origin, in accordance with the standards set by the FSC, and that appropriate quantities of the wood used to manufacture the unprocessed cardboard were bought from FSC-certified forests managed to the highest standards. We’re pretty happy about this – and we’re pretty sure the forests, the climate and last but not least, the consumers are too. |
