Vocational training at our Wittenberg site

SIG Combibloc offers around 30 apprenticeship positions in six different vocations at its site in Wittenberg, Germany. During your training, you’ll gain an insight into many areas of the company, and you’ll be working alongside qualified professionals from day one. Training at SIG Combibloc is delivered in accordance with job descriptions and core curricula set by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK), and all apprenticeships end with an IHK exam.

In-house tuition
In addition to classes at a vocational training school, our apprentices are supported with in-house lessons – the technical skills learned are effectively consolidated, subjects related to the apprenticeship are covered, and academic subjects are looked at in more depth. An important focus of the addtional classes is intensive exam preparation.

Getting started together – the outdoor induction course
To kick off their training with SIG Combibloc, all apprentices go on an external induction and familiarisation course lasting several days, where the focus is on getting to know one another and taking part in team-building outdoor activities. The destination is always a training centre in the wilds of nature. The course content includes a visit to an aerial ropes course and a group construction activity. The purpose of this group trip is to develop mutual trust between the apprentices and their instructors, and to have fun together.
