SIG sells Manzini and Comaco to Catelli

Catelli Holding SpA has acquired all shares of SIG Manzini and SIG Comaco (equipment for tomato processing). In 2004, the two companies which have a manpower strength of 230 employees, generated net sales of about EUR 70 millions. SIG Manzini and SIG Comaco are part of the business sector “Others”, incorporating those companies which are outside of SIG core activities.The transaction still requires the approval of the anti-trust authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the selling price.Catelli is a leading company in the field of food processing. The new owner will continue to operate the company as an industrial entity.The two divestments are in line with the announced program of a strategic repositioning. With this move, SIG is continuing its focus on the core business of aseptic beverage cartons and the growing market of value added beverages packaged in plastic bottles.SIG is an international provider of aseptic beverage cartons and packaging equipment for value added beverages and liquid food.
